A social justice activist and critic, Charles Ogbu, says Nollywood actor Yul Edochie deserves the award for the most insensitive person between 2023 and 2024.


Ogbu’s statement followed a post by Yul claiming that his late colleague, Junior Pope, betrayed him repeatedly despite his being there for him in his times of need.

The Nollywood star said he wanted to wait till after Junior Pope’s burial before he could divulge how the late actor betrayed him.

“I didn’t want to say anything till after his burial. I know many asked why I wasn’t there. Why I haven’t said anything about it since.

“I took him like a brother & good friend. I was there for him when he needed me. But he stabbed me in the back repeatedly. That’s life!

“I’ll drop the full details soon so others can learn from it.


“Be careful what you wish people, it could come to you,” Yul wrote on his Instagram story.

However, the statement did not get down well with Ogbu, who took to his Facebook page to describe Yul’s post as nonsense and insensitive.

He said: “Yul Edochie deserves the award for the 2023/2024 most INSENS!T!VE pers0n.

“See the n0ns€nse he’s writing about the late Junior Pope.”

Recall that Junior Pope died in April alongside three others after their boat capsized in river in Anambra State while returning from a film location.

He had since been buried last week in his hometown in Ukehe, Igbo Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Nollywood actress Mosun Filani has finally opened up on why she took a break from the movie industry.

It was reported last year that the movie star had announced her return to the industry after many years of being off-screen. In an interview with Oyinmomo TV, she disclosed that she prioritized her kids above her career, hence, her break from the industry.

Mosun noted that when a child gains admission to the University, hë or she is no longer under the care of their parents and as such, she wanted to train her kids well, especially with what is going on on social media.

“Business was not my priority. I decided to take that break. I took a long break for the kids to grow up. For how long do they stay with us. When a child is in the University, hë or she is no longer under the parents’ care, take it or leave it.

So, how many years do you have to spend with your children? To train them?

It was reported last year that Mosun Filani had announced she was back in the movie industry after years of being off-screen.

Urging script writers producers and directors to send scripts, she noted how there is time and season for everything.

Refreshing your memory, Mosun quit acting after she married her husband, Kayode Oduoye, a politician and son of late Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Simeon Oduoye.

Her husband’s political ambition fueled her decision to quit acting as she was required to project a certain lifestyle and acting wasn’t part of it. Unfortunately, he didn’t win any poll, so she concentrated on her beauty business and caring for her family.

Speaking out, Mosun Filani revealed that she took a break from Nollywood to focus on her family and children.
