Arsenal Goalkeeper Raya Beats Pickford To Golden Glove Award

Published

on

Arsenal goalkeeper, David Raya, has been confirmed as the winner of the Premier League Golden Glove Award for the 2023/2024 season.

This follows Elijah Adebayo’s equalizer scored against Everton’s Jordan Pickford on Friday night.

The Toffees had taken the lead through Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s penalty, before Adebayo controlled a long pass and smashed the ball past Pickford.

The goal means Pickford now has 12 clean sheets with two fixtures left – at home against Sheffield United and away to Arsenal.

Raya, on the other hand, has 14 clean sheets with three fixtures left to play.

The best Pickford can do is equal Raya’s tally, although that is unlikely with him facing title contenders Arsenal on the last day

Bayer Leverkusen End Historic Bundesliga Season Unbeaten

Bayer Leverkusen have become the first team in Bundesliga history to go through a season unbeaten after a 2-1 home win over Augsburg on Saturday, extending their season-long run to 51 games without defeat.

Crowned Bundesliga champions for the first time in their history in April, goals from Victor Boniface and Robert Andrich put Leverkusen — who play the Europa League final against Atalanta and the German Cup final this week — on course for victory and a possible unbeaten treble.

Elsewhere, Leverkusen’s neighbouring rivals Cologne were relegated after a 4-1 loss at Heidenheim.

Arsenal Will Challenge For EPL Title In Future, Says Guardiola

Published

on

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has admitted that Arsenal will be their closest Premier League title challengers going forward.

City are on the brink of a record fourth-straight title this weekend if they defeat West Ham on Sunday.

However, they could lose it if they drop points and Arsenal beat Everton at the Emirates.

Ahead of these fixtures, Guardiola expects Arsenal to be title challengers for years to come.

He told Sky Sports: “For the future? Arsenal are giving the message… and we take it.

“I have a few certain things in my life. I wake up in the morning and I am going to sleep in the night.

“The other certain[ty], with the age they [Arsenal] have, the manager they have, the way they’ve played the last two seasons – they will stay here for a long, long time. That’s why we get the message.”
