“You aren’t a witch, and you aren’t what people call you” – Angela Okorie makes u-turn as she tenders apology to Mercy Johnson

on

Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has tendered a deep apology to her colleague, Mercy Johnson.

It was reported on Wednesday, January 28th that Okorie was arrested by the Nigeria Police Force Cybercrime Centre in Abuja at her residence in Lagos for cybercrime involving her colleague, Mercy Johnson. She was later released from Suleja Correctional Centre in Niger State.

The movie star, who promised to make a statement, kept her word, releasing a video on her Instagram page in which she profusely apologised to her colleague.

She noted that she isn’t a perfect being, which is why she apologised. Angela claimed she heard bad things about MJ, as she is fondly called, which influenced her negative feelings about the actress. She also noted how people were badmouthing her to Mercy, which led to the chaos.

Okorie said that at such an age, she doesn’t want drama or fight and wants to concentrate on business. She attests that MJ isn’t a witch and isn’t what people are calling her. The controversial actress corrected the misconception that she is a troublesome person, when in reality, she is the sweetest soul anyone could meet.

The movie star claimed she spoke to Johnson through another colleague, and apologised to her, which she wholeheartedly accepted.

“I want to say a big thank you to all my fans around the world. I don’t know what I have done for you guys to show me this massive love.

I am not a perfect being, so this video is specifically for Mercy, her kids and family. As you grow, a lot of things will be leaving you. While in the industry, a lot of people were telling me about Mercy Johnson and others were badmouthing me to her.

At this age, I don’t think this is what I want. The only thing I want is to run a business. I am no longer listening to that cheap gossip.

I just want to apologise to you, if it’s just my words, I am deeply sorry. You’re not a witch; you aren’t what people are calling you. This is to say ‘I Am Sorry’.

We don’t know where our kids will meet each other tomorrow, and they can be best of friends, and we mothers can’t stop them from being friends. I am so sorry. I love everybody and am making peace with all men.

If I have offended you knowingly or unknowingly, I am sorry. Forgive Legit Queen, I am not a troublesome person. I am the sweetest soul you can see or meet in your life. I am deeply sorry.

Mercy, this is a new beginning. You’re my friend, and you’re still my friend. I will never listen to what anyone has to say about you. If there is anything I hear, I will give you a call. When we spoke on Uju’s phone, and you apologised to me, I accepted it wholeheartedly. I have nothing against you, and I love you. I pray God blesses you and lifts you higher, IJN”.

Ace musician, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face, has added his voice to the ongoing debate comparing singer Wizkid with the late Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.

Recall that Wizkid sparked outrage after claiming he is “bigger” than Fela while responding to Seun Kuti’s criticisms of him and his fans over the comparison of the Ojuelegba crooner with the Afrobeat legend.

Reacting in a snippet of the upcoming episode of the Mic On podcast, 2Face described the comparison “ridiculous,” emphasising that that it is both disrespectful to Fela’s legacy and unfair to Wizkid’s career.

The African Queen crooner explained that placing Fela and Wizkid side by side ignores their different eras, impacts, and unique contributions to Nigerian music.

“Comparing Fela with Wizkid is ridiculous. Apart from the fact that it is disrespectful to Fela, and at the same time, it is also unfair to Wizkid,” 2Face expressed.

Meanwhile, 2Face, has admitted that he made a lot of mistakes in the past both in his career and personal life.

Speaking in a snippet of the upcoming episode of the Mic On podcast, the music legend said he wish he could turn back the hand of time to make amends.
