Nollywood actress Anita Joseph has questioned married men about their lack of wearing wedding rings.

In an Instagram post, the newly divorcee questioned why men aren’t fond of wearing their wedding rings. She promised to bombard them with quotes throughout the year.

“But men, why una no Dey wear una wedding tings?

This Year una go hear quotes Tire oh”.

Last year was undoubtedly bittersweet for Anita, who ended her five years marriage to MC Fish.

The movie star, in December, had finally confirmed that her marriage had ended, noting how life has a way of testing our strength in ways we never expect, especially in marriage. She revealed that she has been walking through a season of deep reflection, pain, and healing, and was choosing grace, growth, and faith.

Insiders, while speaking to a famous blogger, alleged that the 5-year union had come to an end after facing significant personal and emotional challenges.

It was revealed that the actress lost two babies – stillbirth and a painful miscarriage, and had also endured domestic violence.

Following her divorce, Anita issued a statement, saying she is single and not looking for a partner. She noted that guys have been bombarding her with calls.

Anita noted how 8 years and 11 days with her husband isn’t 8 months and said she needs her head cleared.

Burton Albion boss Gary Bowyer admits he had a feeling that Crysencio Summerville would make the difference for West Ham today.

Summerville struck in extra-time as the Hammers won today’s fourth round tie 1-0.

Bowyer said afterwards: “We started the game ever so well and had two shouts for penalties. We took a Premier League team all the way to the last minute of extra time.

“We had some really good key moments today but were not able to captalise on them.

“When I got the team sheet and they had left Jarrod Bowen at home I was delighted but then I saw Crysencio Summerville in the squad I was disappointed with that.

“We kept going after we conceded, we had loads of chances we just couldn’t quite capitalise.”

China to scrap tariffs for African nations from May, says Xi Jinping

Published

on

Beijing’s scrapping of tariffs for all but one African country will start May 1, Chinese President Xi Jinping said Saturday, according to state media.

China already has a zero-tariff policy for imports from 33 African countries, but Beijing said last year it would extend the policy to all 53 of its diplomatic partners on the continent.

China is Africa’s largest trading partner and a key backer of major infrastructure projects in the region through its vast “Belt and Road” initiative.

From May 1, zero levies will apply to all African countries except Eswatini, which maintains diplomatic relations with Taiwan.

China claims the democratic island as its own and does not rule out using force to take it.

Many African countries are increasingly looking to China and other trading partners since US President Donald Trump imposed steep tariffs worldwide last year.

Xi said the zero-tariff deal “will undoubtedly provide new opportunities for African development”, announcing the date as leaders across the continent gathered in Ethiopia for the annual African Union summit.

Slot ponders kids gamble for Liverpool FA Cup clash with Brighton

Published

on

Liverpool boss Arne Slot admits he may need to rotate his XI for their FA Cup fourth round clash with Brighton at Anfield.

Slot says he may hand chances to the likes of Trey Nyoni and Rio Nguhoma on the day.

He said this morning: “Not the first time we’ve had 3 games in 7 days, it is part of being a top club. It depends what draw you have too and we play a strong Brighton side, they don’t deserve the position they are in, they play so much better than the table shows, they deserve more than they get so it is another challenge.

“It took me a long time before I could fall asleep because I was constantly thinking of the same options. Which players, which other players, which positions, so I need another 24 hours.

“Where is this as a priority? We have 3 clear priorities, FA Cup, CL qualification and CL. We are also aware of the limited options so the load management is important, the last thing we need is another injury, so that is always the tough thing for a manager, to make the best decision every time. It wouldn’t be the first time a player gets injured if they have to play 3 in 7.

“Most important thing is we train today, listen to the players, see how they feel and make the best decisions.”

Liverpool will host Brighton on the back of a Premier League win at Sunderland in midweek.

Slot also said: “I am always looking at the younger players, a few of them are closer and closer to first-team football. Rio and Trey have had that and games like this could be an option but it is about the right balance.

“We play a strong team and who to play is something to think about.”
