Seyi Law clashes with Atiku Abubakar’s son for calling Tinubu drug baron
Popular Nigerian comedian, Seyi Law, has fired back at former Vice president Atiku Abubakar’s son, Shehu Abubakar for calling Tinubu a drug baron.
Recall that Shehu Abubakar had referred to Nigeria president, Bola Tinubu as a drug baron while reacting to Trump’s ‘disgrace’ remark about Nigeria.
The United States president, Donald Trump had, while threatening military intervention in Nigeria over the alleged Christian genocide, branded the nation a “now disgraced country.”
Trump’s statement triggered a trend on X with the hashtag #DisgracedCountry, splitting Nigerians’ opinion between outrage and self critique.
Responding to Nigerians who were upset about Trump’s remarks, Shehu Abubakar said “Why are some upset that Donald Trump called us disgraceful? When they announced a drug baron as our President, what do you call that? Prideful? I know it hurts our pride as a nation but we have to first look inwards & hold ourselves accountable before we accuse outsiders”.
Defending Tinubu in a post on X, Seyi Law who is a known supporter of the president, questioned Atiku Abubarka’s integrity, reminding Shehu of how his father was indicted of money laundry in the US during the former president Obasanjo’s regime.
“This is coming from someone whose father was called a thief by his principal and indicted as a money launderer in the US. Someone whose father deleted his handler’s tweet about the extra-juducial killing of Deborah. Na really wa”, the comedian stated.

I don’t supply drugs to Regina Daniels – Actress Uche Montana, denies allegations
Nollywood actress, Uche Montana, has denied the speculation making the rounds that she was involved in the reported drug crisis surrounding actress Regina Daniels and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
Montana, in a statement on her Instagram page on Monday, addressed the accusations a few days after Nwoko, in a lengthy Facebook post, named Regina’s close friends and relatives, including actresses Sonia Uche and Uche Montana, as allegedly undermining his wife’s rehabilitation process.
Nwoko had claimed that the individuals in question repeatedly ignored doctors’ orders to restrict access to Regina during therapy and would “bring her the same drugs she was being treated for.”
Reacting to the allegation, Montana said, “My attention has been drawn to a circulating post that appears to link my name to certain claims.
“For clarity, I have no involvement or connection to the situation described. This note is simply to set the record straight and protect my peace.”
Her rebuttal is coming as the controversy surrounding Regina Daniels’ marriage to Nwoko continues to intensify.
Recall that two weeks earlier, Regina had alleged in a viral video that she was a victim of domestic abuse, describing herself as a “slave” in her husband’s home.
Nwoko, however, dismissed the allegations, insisting that his wife was battling “drug and alcohol addiction” and accusing her of physically assaulting domestic workers.

‘African Queen’ gave me fame, but also trouble — 2Face
Legendary Nigerian singer, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face or 2Baba, has described his hit song African Queen as both a blessing and a burden in his decades-long career.
Speaking on the Entertainment & Lifestyle show which started trending on Sunday, the veteran artiste said the 2004 classic gave his career its defining spark, even though it has also brought him several challenges over the years.
He said, “That song has been a very huge blessing and e don turn to problem join for me, you know, but Like I said earlier, I’m grateful for everything.
Reflecting on his career, 2Face said while African Queen remains his most iconic song, he has created many other works that fans deeply connect with.
“There are so many other songs I have that are brilliant, and many people resonate with them too,” he said.
The song, released in 2004 as part of his debut solo album Face 2 Face, catapulted 2Face to international fame and cemented his status as one of Africa’s biggest music exports.
However, the song’s legacy has been trailed by controversy, with his former Plantashun Boiz bandmate, Ahmedu Augustine Obiabo, popularly known as Blackface, repeatedly accusing him of stealing the song.
2Face has consistently denied the claim, saying African Queen was a collaborative effort during their band days and not an act of theft.
The long-running debate resurfaced in August 2025 after Billboard named African Queen the ‘Greatest Afrobeats Song of All Time’.
