‘People begging me not to go for fourth degree’ – DJ Cuppy
Nigerian disc jockey Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has revealed that people are begging her to shelve plans of obtaining a fourth degree at the age of 31.
Recall that DJ Cuppy recently revealed her plans to return to school to earn a fourth degree.
Her revelation elicited mixed reactions, with many urging her to put the knowledge she had so far acquired into work rather than chase after more academic laurels.
In a new X post, DJ Cuppy confirmed that people are pleading with her not to further her education.
She wrote: “People are really begging me not to go back to school for a 4th degree [laughing emoji]. LMAO.”
The music star graduated from Oxford University with an MSc in African Studies in 2023.
She earned a degree in Business and Economics from King’s College, London, in July 2014. In 2015, she earned a master’s degree in music business from New York University.

‘It Was Olamide Who Humble Don Jazzy’ – Samklef
Veteran Nigerian music producer, Samklef, has claimed that ace rapper cum YBNL boss, Olamide, has made more impact in the country’s music industry than renowned music executive, Don Jazzy.
Recall that Samklef made this assertion while reacting to the backlash Olamide is currently receiving for declaring Wizkid, “the greatest Afrobeats artist after Fela.”
Samklef, in a post via on Saturday, argued that Olamide deserves to be respected, claiming that he broke the chain of gatekeepers in the Nigerian music industry.
He wrote, “Devil go punish anybody wey talk down on olamide! His impact in the industry even Donjazzy Dey learn.
“It was Olamide who humble Don Jazzy after that Headies wahala. And broke the chain of the industry gate keepers..Na him make Don Jazzy dey wear this new mask.
“After Wizkid, na Olamide get the real street credibility.”
Don Jazzy and Olamide are widely regarded as Nigeria’s most prolific music executives, owing to the number of talents they have nurtured to stardom through their record labels.
Don Jazzy was instrumental to the rise of Wande Coal, D’Prince, Dr Sid, and several artists through the now-defunct Mo’Hits Records, which he co-owned with D’banj.
After Mo’Hits split, he launched Mavin Records, which has produced superstars such as Tiwa Savage, Reekado Banks, Korede Bello, Johnny Drille, Rema, and Ayra Starr.
On his part, Olamide has, through his YBNL record label, launched the careers of artists such as Adekunle Gold, Lil Kesh, Fireboy DML, Asake, and many others.

Nollywood actress Regina Daniels recently took to Instagram to share a heartfelt interaction with music superstar Tiwa Savage, describing the singer as a “true icon” whose wisdom and generosity left a lasting impression.
In her post on Saturday, Daniels revealed that Savage insisted on giving her a dollar gift, a rare moment where the usually generous actress found herself on the receiving end.
