Nigeria Heading For Total Collapse Under Buhari Administration- Fayose

Published

By Augustine Akhilomen

Former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose has revealed that Nigeria may be heading towards a total collapse if the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari continues to rip Nigerians of their hard-earned sweat.

Fayose’s assertion may have corroborated the view of former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, who on Saturday made the same statement.

In a one-on-one interview with publisher of Ovation magazine, Dele Momodu on Sunday, Fayose said that Nigerians are currently divided under the Buhari’s government, adding that many of the problems currently plaguing the country were due to the recent mismanagement of Nigeria’s diversity.

Fayose also stated that APC in five years was dastardly, more terrible than the PDP in 16 years.

He lamented the insecurity and rising debt profile of the country, saying “only God will deliver Nigeria”.

“Of all the Presidents, I don’t like Obasanjo ways, I tell you the truth; I don’t like his ways at all. Me and him we are not on the same page but Obasanjo is the only one-time Nigerian President that has helped this country here and there.

“The fact remains that if you look at the Obasanjo time, there are certain things he put in place and don’t forget, he saved this country a lot of money. He saved this country a lot of money. These people have squandered all we have. The way Obasanjo brought it down, they have taken it up.

“That was why what Obasanjo said today (Saturday), in a way, I agree with him. We don’t normally agree but I agree with him.

“When I started talking about President Buhari, even you, Dele Momodu, criticised me. Even you, Dele Momodu was looking at a saint in Buhari. Today, most of you now should cover your faces in shame, that you gave Nigerians a wrong road and a wrong path. It’s regrettable.

“Everything I said about that government at the time, when it was still in embryo, everything has happened today.

“I said in 2015 that President Buhari will be a shield for the looters to bleed this country. I said so many things that this President has no capacity.

“My brother, have you seen a country govern the way this country is being governed? Have you seen one? Everybody now, we are in crisis, we are trouble, the economy is in trouble. You remember, Operation Occupy Nigeria? Where are these people now? You people should occupy again, we are waiting for you to occupy. This country is in trouble, we need God, we need intervention.

“Look at our debt profile. We may wake up one day and they say China has come to take over. So, we should handover to China. It is a very sad development. If they don’t address the electoral process in this country, we are going nowhere. When the government begins to fear the people, things will change.

“This APC in five years is dastardly, more terrible than the PDP in 16 years.

“Nothing is personal between me and President Buhari, he didn’t take my wife and I don’t even have the capacity to take his wife but this country is not governed well.”

2027: INEC bows to pressure, updates NDC’s certified logo on portal

Published

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has changed the logo displayed for the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, on its official portal, with the commission now reflecting the party’s blue-background “Two Fingers Up” logo.

The updated logo features a blue background, a two-finger victory sign and the red “NDC” inscription.

The development follows a September 8, 2026 judgment of the Federal High Court in Abuja, which directed INEC to approve, upload and use the modified logo in elections conducted by the commission.

The dispute arose after NDC alleged that INEC initially uploaded the modified logo but later removed it and reverted to the old logo used when the party was originally registered.

The party subsequently approached the court, seeking an order compelling INEC to recognise and use the modified logo.

Justice Joyce Abdulmalik ruled that the modified design, which was adopted at the NDC’s first National Executive Council meeting on March 25, 2026, should be recognised as the party’s official logo.

Following the judgment, NDC leaders directed the party’s candidates and members to use the modified logo on campaign materials, including banners.

2027: Why I will rather back Tinubu than Atiku – Babachir Lawal

Published

on

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Babachir Lawal, has explained why he would rather support President Bola Tinubu than Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC.

Speaking during an interview on the Naija Unfiltered Podcast, Lawal said Nigeria could collapse chaotically if Atiku becomes president in 2027.

Recall that Lawal recently joined the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, after resigning from the ADC following the emergence of Atiku as its presidential candidate.

“I’d rather go with Bola than Atiku because when Nigeria crashes with Bola, it might be an orderly crash, but with Atiku, it would be a chaotic one,” Lawal said.

According to him, the former vice president is not a good man, attributing his position to his previous experience working with Atiku.

“I wanted to work for Atiku. I had the belief that, given the way we are suffering in the North, we should not surrender the presidency; that, at least, our own man would, if nothing else, stop the decline we are in,” he added.

The former SGF accused Atiku of giving instructions and later reversing them after consulting with other people.

“Everything you do with him, there’s chaos,” Lawal stated.
