Nollywood stars rally support for Ogogo after daughters’ plea over stage-four cancer

Published

on

Prominent Nollywood personalities have rallied support for veteran Yoruba actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, following an emotional appeal by his daughters for medical assistance as he battles stage-four cancer.

Actor and filmmaker Femi Adebayo, in a post on his X page on Monday, urged members of the public to help the family find medical professionals and facilities capable of reviewing Hassan’s medical records and offering treatment options.

“Please let’s rally around our beloved Sir Taiwo Hassan, who is currently facing a serious health challenge battling cancer,” Adebayo wrote.

He said the family was not seeking financial assistance but urgently needed medical direction.

“As shared by his family, they are NOT looking for money or financial support. What they urgently need is medical direction,” he said.

Adebayo called for recommendations for standard hospitals, specialists and advanced treatment centres anywhere in the world that could review the actor’s medical files and provide treatment options.

“If you know someone who knows someone in the oncology space, or a medical avenue that can assist please help reach out to his family immediately,” he added.

He urged the public to share the appeal until it reached people who could assist the actor.

Also on Tuesday, actress Toyin Abraham shared a video of Hassan’s daughters on her Instagram page, asking those who could help to contact the daughters or her.

“Pls kindly send dm to @kira_taiwo @limataiwo_ or me pls🙏🙏🙏🙏 Anyhow anyone can help ejoor🙏🙏🙏🙏,” she wrote.

The support followed separate emotional appeals by Hassan’s daughters, Lima and Kira Taiwo, on Instagram on Monday.

The daughters said their father was battling stage-four cancer and appealed to Nigerians, well-wishers and medical professionals with expertise in cancer treatment to help find a facility or specialist willing to treat him.

Lima said her father’s condition had deteriorated and that hospitals had refused to continue treating him, while Kira said the actor could no longer receive chemotherapy at his hospital.

Both daughters stressed that the family was not seeking money but medical assistance that could give their father another chance.

Hassan, 66, is a veteran of the Nigerian film industry whose career spans more than four decades. He has featured in more than 300 films and is one of the recognisable figures in Yoruba cinema.

‎Kanye West Queries Lewis Hamilton Romance With Ex-Wife Kim Kardashian

Published

on

‎Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton and reality icon/SKIMS founder Kim Kardashian have transitioned from decade-long platonic friends into one of 2026’s most talked-about high-profile couples.

‎Kim’s ex-husband and father of her children, Kanye West, has weighed in on her relationship with Lewis Hamilton.

‎When he was asked about the sportsman’s relationship with Kim in an interview, Kanye West replied, “Honestly, I don’t understand how some guys think. I wish Lewis had someone who could give him some good advice, but apparently, he doesn’t. I just can’t understand how, at his age and with everything he’s accomplished, he’d choose to date a woman who already has four children with another man and be completely comfortable with that.

‎”I’ve already experienced that relationship and everything that came with it, and to be honest, it’s nothing special, which makes me wonder what he sees in it. But he seems completely comfortable with the situation, and I guess that’s what matters to him. Personally, though, it’s not something I would ever choose for myself again.”

Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from Kanye West in February 2021 after nearly seven years of marriage. Their divorce settlement was finalised in November 2022, including joint custody of their four children and an agreement on shared expenses.

‎Kim Kardashian and Lewis Hamilton first crossed paths around September 2014 at the GQ Men of the Year Awards in London, where they attended alongside their respective former partners (Kanye West and Nicole Scherzinger).

‎Over the next decade, Hamilton and Kardashian frequently crossed paths in elite fashion, sports, and entertainment circles. Hamilton also shared friendly ties with the broader Kardashian-Jenner family, including Kendall and Kylie Jenner.

‎Speculation began around January 2026 after the duo celebrated New Year’s Eve in Aspen, followed by a quiet getaway at a boutique retreat in the Cotswolds, UK.

‎By February 2026, they were spotted dining together in Paris and seated together at the Super Bowl in Las Vegas, transitioning their quiet connection into public view.

‎The couple went public with their PDA during a beach and surfing outing in Malibu. They were also spotted together enjoying acts at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

‎Hamilton shared a video of the two driving a Ferrari F40 on his social media, while Kardashian officially posted Hamilton on her Instagram feed. Kardashian later attended the Monaco Grand Prix to support Hamilton trackside.

‎Over the Fourth of July holiday, Hamilton joined Kardashian and her family, including her four children, for a lake vacation in Idaho. Sources close to the couple report that Hamilton has bonded well with her children and that her family strongly approves of the relationship.

‎Today, the couple balances a high-visibility, long-distance relationship while managing demanding international schedules between Hamilton’s F1 commitments and Kardashian’s business empire.
