Musicians don’t support Nollywood as much – Timini Egbuson

Movie star, Timini Egbuson, has insinuated that musicians don’t support the movie industry as much as actors support their music.

The thespian said he wished musicians would support the film industry more.

“[I] really wish musicians supported Nollywood the way we support their music but that’s a conversation for another day,” he wrote on his X handle on Sunday.


The Nigerian film and music industries have a close relationship.

Over the years, a lot of musicians have featured in Nollywood movies and several actors have also released their own music, with some of them collaborating with musicians.

Some actresses have also been featured as vixens in music videos.

Rema addresses claims of being Illuminati member, having baby mama .

Grammy-nominated Nigerian Afrobeats star, Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has revealed the weirdest rumours he has heard about himself on the internet.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Rema disclosed that he has heard rumours about being part of the Illuminati, worshipping the devil, and drinking blood.

The singer noted that these rumours have caused him to lose a considerable number of fans, stressing that some people believe whatever they see online. He said:

“Random stories have been made up about me being Illuminati, worshipping the devil, and drinking blood. I definitely lose some fans who just believe anything they see.”

Rema also explained why he wears pendants in memory of his late father and brother.

He added: “It was just a dark moment that changed my life, so I always wear this chain—mostly because I never want to forget. While any craziness or any fantastic shit is happening, I always remind myself, ‘Know the struggles you came from,’ because, for real, people be forgetting.”

The singer then revealed that he is not open to having children out of wedlock. Disclosing that he doesn’t abhor promiscuity, the Ozeba crooner stressed that he’s an intentional man.

Rema who made history as the first Black African star to cover Rolling Stone magazine shared:

“I feel like there’s a need for us [family] to get bigger and become a whole empire if we can. And then neither do I want to wait for it to become a mistake before I decide to be a father. I’m very particular and I don’t really be hoeing around.”

Rema also spoke about his relationship with Ayra Starr and South African Tyla. He said

“Ayra’s family, for sure. Tyla’s family. We’re good friends because I’ve been friends with Tyla even before everything.

She revealed that she stays in her lane, not out of fear but out of fierce dedication to her own journey.

The mother of one made it known that she doesn’t allow the noise, hype and opinions to move her.

She stated that people can call it anything they want, but she sees it as growth forged through struggle.

She added that while others chase validation, she builds a life anchored in purpose and resilience.

It was reported on Thursday that Wumi had called out Chef T of Dairy of a Kitchen Lover for ignoring her DM while promoting her movie, Queen Lateefah, last year. Wumi stated that she feels the chef doesn’t need anyone again and can grow independently.

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Omoni Oboli has expressed gratitude to her Maker following her new feat.

In a post on her Instagram page, the movie producer revealed that her new movie, Love In Every Word, has hit 10 million views on YouTube in just 6 days.

The mother of three credited her Maker for her new feat, stating that God is in her story.

Omoni expressed how in awe she is of her God, who she stated has taken her movie to the next level. Oboli further expressed gratitude to the public for the way they carried her movie on their head.
