Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has revealed what he learned from Brazilian legend Ronaldo.
The Gabon international is preparing with Chelsea to face former club AC Milan in the Champions League this week.
The former Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund star recalled learning from Ronaldo in Italy.
He said he learned from the former Brazil international, although the South American was already ‘a bit fat’ at that stage.
Aubameyang was at AC Milan as a young player from 2007-11 and did not play for the senior team at San Siro as he spent time on loan before moving permanently to Saint-Etienne.
The Gabon international spent some time alongside a string of greats at Milan, including Ronaldo, who was about to retire from football.
“I know Milan well,” said Aubameyang ahead of Chelsea hosting the Italians on Wednesday.
“At that time, the team was really strong, to tell the truth. Ronaldo, [Paolo] Maldini, [Alessandro] Nesta… I was very young.
“That is why I chose to go on loan for a few years. I was just trying to improve and looking at [Ronaldo] to learn as much as I could.
“To tell the truth, he was a bit fat by then! But he was still the best. I will always remember when Carlo Ancelotti had a go at him about his fitness, he said, ‘What do you want me to do, run or score goals?’ Ancelotti said, ‘score goals’, and the next game Ronaldo scored twice!
“It that is part of the character and as a striker, you need that because you have to be strong mentally.”

Juventus Board Resign Over Alleged Accounting Irregularities
The entire board of directors at Juventus has resigned, including president Andrea Agnelli and vice president Pavel Nedved, the Italian Serie A club said in a statement Monday.
The board had sought independent legal advice over an ongoing investigation by prosecutors in Turin into allegations of false accounting and irregularities in the transfer and loans of players.
It resigned over “new legal and accounting opinions” from experts, and given “the centrality and the relevance of the pending legal and technical/accounting matters”, the club said.
The exodus marks the end of a chapter for Agnelli, who as chairman saw Juventus win nine-straight Serie A titles as well as reach the 2015 and 2017 Champions League finals.
He was also a fervent supporter of the European Super League. Two of the clubs that also hoped to join — Manchester United and Liverpool — are now up for sale.
But he risks legal woes along with over a dozen other people in the commissions’ case.
Juve are being probed over 282 million euros ($319m) of capital gains — the positive difference between purchase and sale values net of amortization and write-downs — from a series of player transfers booked in their financial results for 2019, 2020 and 2021.
– Parallel investigation –
Prosecutors in Turin are investigating the possibility that Juve, who are listed on the Italian stock exchange, presented false accounting information to investors and produced invoices for non-existent transactions over that period.
The outgoing board “considered (it) to be in the best social interest to recommend that Juventus equip itself with a new Board of Directors to address these issues,” the club said.
Managing director Maurizio Arrivabene was asked to stay on for an interim period while a new board could be brought together for the Turin giants, the club said.
The next shareholders’ meeting is set for December 27 and will examine new consolidated financial statements as of 30 June 2022.
Shareholders are then set to meet again on January 18 to appoint the new board, it said.
A raft of transfers involving Juve and other clubs are also the subject of a parallel investigation which was launched by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) in October.
What is discovered by prosecutors will then be passed on to the FIGC, which has powers to sanction clubs with a range of punishments from fines to being kicked out of the league.
The club will “continue to cooperate with the supervisory and industry authorities”, it said.

Heskey Advises Liverpool To Sign Osimhen
Former England forward, Emile Heskey has advised Liverpool to sign Victor Osimhen.
Liverpool are reportedly among the clubs interested in signing Osimhen from Serie A club, Napoli.
Fellow Premier League clubs, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, as well as European champions, Real Madrid are also credited with an interest in the Nigeria international.
The 23-year-old has scored 10 goals and recorded three assists in 14 appearances across all competitions for Napoli this season.
The Nigeria international was recently named “Emerging Young Player of the Year” at the Global Soccer Award in Doha, Qatar.
“He (Osimhen) would certainly give them something different to what they have now,” Heskey noted. “He’s different to Nunez who can play out wide; Osimhen would be that central goal threat,” Heskey told Anfield Watch.
“He’s quick, has an eye for goal, and can finish really well with both feet. He’s a top player. I think Napoli paid quite a lot for him, so that’s why he’s commanding a €100m transfer fee.
Osimhen joined Napoli from Ligue 1 club, Lille, in 2020 and has a contract until 2025.
Napoli are not willing to sell Osimhen in January, and any potential deal will be done next summer.
Their €100m price tag could also ward off the interest of interested clubs.

World Cup: My Son Wept After Argentina’s Defeat To Saudi Arabia – Messi
Argentina captain, Lionel Messi, has revealed that his son, Mateo, immediately started crying after his side’s World Cup 2-1 loss to Saudi Arabia last week.
Recall that Saudi Arabia came from a goal down to beat Argentina on November 22.
Speaking after Argentina’s World Cup 2-0 win against Mexico over the weekend, Messi said via Mirror, “Mateo left the stadium crying after the first game (vs Saudi Arabia) and Thiago came out counting telling me that if we won both games we would qualify.
“My family suffers the same as all Argentines but we’re happy and we get comfortable again because now our progress depends on us.”
Messi will now hope to lead Argentina to victory when they face Poland on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Messi’s agent, Marcelo Mendez, has played down speculation his client is on the verge of joining Inter Miami when his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires next summer.
Reports had emerged that Messi, who inspired Argentina to beat Mexico 2-0 in a World Cup tie last weekend, would leave PSG on a free transfer.
Reacting to the speculation, Mendez branded the rumours ‘fake news’.
“It’s false,” Mendez told CNN when asked about the reports. “It’s fake news.
“There is no negotiation for Lionel to join Inter Miami next season.”
