Finally, Eriksen Returns To Inter Milan

Published

on

Inter Milan midfielder, Christian Eriksen, has finally return to the club for the first time since his collapse at the recently concluded Euro 2020.

Sports Illustrated reports that Eriksen landed in Milan on Tuesday and has already met with Inter CEO, Giuseppe Marotta.

Recall that Eriksen collapsed on the field during Denmark’s opening Euro 2020 1-0 defeat against Finland last month.

Eriksen’s teammates formed a protective wall around him as medical officials resuscitated him with a defibrillator.

The 29-year-old spent one week in the hospital, where he had a type of pacemaker fitted, before going home to Denmark to recover.

Eriksen had also undergone a raft of medical tests to find out the cause for the cardiac arrest.

The former Tottenham Hotspur playmaker will undergo additional tests in Italy and is not expected to be back on a soccer field for at least six months.

Depending on the nature of his treatment and the cause of the cardiac arrest, Eriksen could be banned from playing in Italy but could continue his football career in England or the Netherlands where the regulations are different.

Nasarawa United head coach, Kabiru Dogo, believes Victor Collins has what it takes to excel at the international level.

Collins recently earned his maiden invitation to the Super Eagles for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.

The centre-back is the only home-based player named in the squad by caretaker coach, Augustine Eguavoen.

The defender earned his invitation on the back of his impressive displays for Nasarawa United in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) this season.

Dogo is optimistic Collins will secure a regular playing berth in the Super Eagles.

Real Madrid boss, Carlo Ancelotti has insisted that it was not his decision for France coach, Didier Deschamps to remove Kylian Mbappe from his latest squad.

Deschamps had on Thursday unveiled his 23-man squad for France’s upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Italy and Israel.

But Mbappe’s name was noticeably absent, sparking surprise and speculation among fans.

The latest omission was the player’s fourth consecutive absence from the national team.

Speaking on the development ahead of Real Madrid’s LaLiga clash with Osasuna on Saturday, Ancelotti also noted that Mbappe is motivated.

“Mbappé out of France squad? Well, it’s not my decision. He is my player, he is motivated and working hard,” Ancelotti said at his pre-match press conference.

“He is training really well. Not just him but everyone. It’s not just Kylian, all the players need to work to play to our full potential.”
