Ex-West Ham captain Zouma terminates CFR Cluj contract after 4 matches

Published

What was expected to be one of the most spectacular transfers of the season turned, in just a few months, into an expensive disappointment. Kurt Zouma (31) and CFR Cluj decided on Saturday to end their partnership, reaching an agreement to terminate the contract that began in September 2025.

Although the arrival of the Frenchman, who boasts an impressive list of achievements, was hailed as a major coup by owner Ioan Varga, the reality on the pitch fell far short of expectations. The central defender’s stint in Romania proved very lucrative for him, but not so much for the club.

According to fanatik.ro, Zouma leaves Gruia with all his wages paid in full, and also receives a compensation package for agreeing to the split.

With a monthly salary of 50,000 euros, the French international earned around 250,000 euros during his four months with the Transylvanian side.

“The club CFR 1907 Cluj and defender Kurt Zouma have reached an agreement to end their collaboration. We wish him every success in the next stage of his career and thank him for his efforts with our team!” announced the CFR Cluj management on Facebook.

Even though his CV features giants like Chelsea, Everton, and West Ham United, as well as major trophies like the Champions League, Premier League, and UEFA Super Cup, Zouma’s fitness let him down in the SuperLigă.

Plagued by injuries, the defender played only four official matches, totaling just 197 minutes on the pitch. His last appearance in the Cheminots’ shirt left a bitter taste for the fans.

The Chief of Staff urged the lawmaker to ignore APC members inviting him to join the ruling party.

He said, “Don’t come to APC. Stay in ADC and scatter them. We like what you’re doing. Don’t mind former governor Yahaya Bello, who said you should join APC.

“No, no, no, stay in ADC and win your election. Also, bring Bala Gombe, and we’ll support him. Good luck in court”.

Recall that ADC has been battling internal crises, splitting the party into two factions.

Ace music executive, Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has revealed his major challenge with dealing with GenZ artists under his record label.

Speaking in an episode of Who’s In The House podcast, the Mavin Records boss lamented that his major challenge with dealing with GenZ artists is their reluctance to promote their music passionately on their social media pages.

He explained that a lot of GenZ artists are adamant about flooding their pages with their musical contents because they are more concerned about the aesthetics of their social media pages.

Don Jazzy disclosed that the issue sometimes causes disagreement between him and his artists, especially the established ones.

“I fight with my artists all the time because of their reluctance to post their muscat contents on their social media pages. I’m also fighting with my niece, who is into entertainment, for the same issue.

“I don’t know who told GenZ that it is not okay to post your work excessive on social media. They want to keep a clean page and don’t want to post or promote themselves. Especially Ayra Starr, who will tell me it’s imposter syndrome,” he lamented.

The music executive urged artists to always showcase their works online at any given opportunity.
