EndBadGovernance Protest: Nigerians Descend On Gov, Abiodun For Calling Them Sore Losers

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has incurred the wrath of Nigerians for calling them ‘sore losers’ in his reaction to the nationwide #EndBadGovernance protest that shut down several cities yesterday.
Abiodun got into the bad books of Nigerians during an interview session on Channels Television on Friday when he made the comment, which many felt was like running salt into the injuries of the masses who were not happy with the hardship they had been made to go through under the President Bola Tinubu administration.
While responding to a question on the necessity for the nationwide protests, Abiodun said: “The problem we have today is that Nigerians are sore losers. Rather than accept that If you want a regime change, wait till 2027.
“Don’t begin to sponsor faceless, leaderless protests under the guise that you are dissatisfied. The current realities are not peculiar to Nigeria alone.”
The comments drew a lot of angry responses from many Nigerians who took to X to berate him.
Read some of the comments below:
“Dapo Abiodun, a sitting Governor who lived large on tax payers money for 4 years without any significant achievement in Ogun State and was rewarded with another 4years called Nigerians “sore losers” on a live television.
“Can you now see that we aren’t even angry enough?”
“Nigerians, over to you! This incompetent …called Nigerians Sore Losers! – Dapo Abiodun. The Audacity of a … to undermine the efforts of hard-working Nigerians demanding a better country.
“I blame the people of Ogun State for dishing out this trash to the public!”
@DapoAbiodunCON
“Gov. Dapo Abiodun is one of the most useless Governor I have ever seen in my life. We must #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria by force by fire.”
“History will judge Osibajo who used federal might to imposed this useless man on Ogun people….. He has proved to be very useless beyond reasonable doubt.”
“Dapo Abiodun na you and your family be losers. Oloriburuku man. Werey can’t even fix road, I don’t know how the people of Ogun state tolerated this….
“Eleyi Eron lasan lasan dey talk rubbishh. I shalll never be welll with you fool.”
“This man is so useless to the extent he no get Wetin to do again for Ogun state na bike this one carry come most useless Governor so far.”
“How can a sitting governor label Nigerians as Sore losers on National TV? The APC has been in power for 9 years, if the party is still grappling with the economy then the APC doesn’t deserve 3 more years, Nigerians want a leader whose solutions trickle down to the masses.”
“The saddest thing is that in 2027, some Nigeria’s will still vote and fight that APC should win. 2027, if we are serious… We should have total change of government. But it is not the country we are, wait and see.”
“The guts to call Nigerians sore losers. Last time, they said we should wait for the election, and we waited. They rigged it. We complained, and they say we should go to court, and we went they rigged and destroyed our constitution. Now, they couldn’t deliver good governance with the power they stole and ran with. We are protesting. They are now calling us sore losers and said we should wait for another 2027 so that they will rig it and tell us to wait for 2031. No. #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria.”

2027: Current Govt may use courts to frustrate ADC – David Mark raises alarm

The former Senate President raised the alarm in Abuja during a visit by the National Legal Support Group of the ADC, led by Abdullahi Abdurrahman.
Abdurrahman, at the meeting, revealed that no fewer than 310 lawyers have volunteered to defend the party in all ongoing and future legal cases across Nigeria.
According to him, the legal team has representation in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, and is fully mobilised to tackle any legal challenges the ADC may face.
He said the party’s legal team includes prominent legal figures such as the ADC’s Legal Adviser, Peter Oyewole; former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN; and former Edo State Governor and legal scholar, Professor Oserheimen Osunbor.
“We are prepared to handle any case that may arise against ADC anywhere in the country,” Abdurrahman said.
Abdurrahman stated further that the lawyers believe in the ability of the current leadership to transform the party and make a meaningful contribution to national development.
He also extolled Senator Mark’s integrity, urging him to use his experience and statesmanship to guide the ADC to national prominence.
The leader of the National Legal Support Group urged the party’s Legal Adviser to provide necessary documents and updates on legal matters to help the team work effectively.
Responding, Oyewole assured the group that all legal protocols surrounding the recent coalition that birthed the new ADC were properly followed.
“There is no cause for alarm,” he stated.
Senator Mark, however, expressed concern about possible legal threats.
“ADC is the party to beat in 2027. The current administration may attempt to use the courts to frustrate our momentum,” he warned.
He urged Nigerians to support the ADC as a credible and patriotic alternative to lead the country forward.
Mark also commended the legal team for their dedication, encouraging them to remain alert and proactive as the party positions itself as a strong contender in the next general elections.
With a growing grassroots presence and a formidable legal structure, the ADC says it is ready to defend its vision and engage in the 2027 political contest.

Former Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, has joined millions of Nigerians in mourning the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari, describing him as a statesman whose leadership embodied integrity, patriotism, and an unwavering commitment to the ideals of national unity and progress.
In a solemn tribute, Ambode recounted the personal and institutional support Buhari extended to Lagos State during his administration, emphasizing that the former president’s actions reflected his deep appreciation for the state’s strategic importance.
“President Buhari was a strong and ardent supporter of Lagos State,” Ambode stated. “During my tenure as Governor, he granted us significant concessions, including the permission to upgrade the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Road to a multi-carriage highway and the handover of several federal properties like the Presidential Lodge in Marina.”
He noted that Buhari’s decisions were not merely political gestures but signs of visionary leadership anchored in fairness, equity, and a desire to see every part of Nigeria thrive.
“President Buhari led with dignity, calm resolve, and a fear of God. His belief in the promise of our nation and his deep sense of responsibility to the people defined his time in office,” Ambode said.
While extending condolences to the Buhari family and the nation, Ambode prayed for peace for the departed and comfort for those left behind. “On behalf of my family and myself, I offer our deepest condolences. May Almighty Allah accept his good deeds and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus.”
