Edo 2020: Viral Video Of Gambari, Oshiomhole Confirms APC’s Plot To Compromise Polls- PDP

By Augustine Akhilomen

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that the viral video of Ibrahim Gambari, the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari and the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has confirmed its fears that there were ongoing plots to use security operatives to compromise the September 19 governorship election in Edo State.

The PDP National Campaign Council for the Edo Governorship Election in a briefing in Abuja stated that the admission by the Buhari Presidency that Oshiomhole Adams Oshiomhole and Gambari met at the Presidential villa has affirmed the trending leaked video where they allegedly discussed the arrests of certain individuals.

The party said the video coming just a month before the September 19 election has confirmed its worst fears.

“It indeed speaks volumes that the @MBuhari Presidency is trying to rationalize the plot by the godfather of the @OfficialAPCNg candidate, @IzeIyamu4EdoGov, Adams Oshiomhole, who was captured on the trending video, plotting to use compromised security operatives to clampdown on certain unnamed Nigerians to achieve political suppression and rig the Edo governorship election.

“Of course, the Presidency and the @OfficialAPCNg cannot post a denial because they have been caught and exposed by the Nigerian people, who generally detest their lies, propaganda, underhand methods, resort to violence and rigging of election,” the PDP said.

Governor Godwin Obaseki running on the platform of the PDP will square up against his arch rival and APC candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu in a feisty battle for the soul of the State.

2027: INEC bows to pressure, updates NDC’s certified logo on portal

Published

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has changed the logo displayed for the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, on its official portal, with the commission now reflecting the party’s blue-background “Two Fingers Up” logo.

The updated logo features a blue background, a two-finger victory sign and the red “NDC” inscription.

The development follows a September 8, 2026 judgment of the Federal High Court in Abuja, which directed INEC to approve, upload and use the modified logo in elections conducted by the commission.

The dispute arose after NDC alleged that INEC initially uploaded the modified logo but later removed it and reverted to the old logo used when the party was originally registered.

The party subsequently approached the court, seeking an order compelling INEC to recognise and use the modified logo.

Justice Joyce Abdulmalik ruled that the modified design, which was adopted at the NDC’s first National Executive Council meeting on March 25, 2026, should be recognised as the party’s official logo.

Following the judgment, NDC leaders directed the party’s candidates and members to use the modified logo on campaign materials, including banners.

2027: Why I will rather back Tinubu than Atiku – Babachir Lawal

Published

on

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Babachir Lawal, has explained why he would rather support President Bola Tinubu than Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC.

Speaking during an interview on the Naija Unfiltered Podcast, Lawal said Nigeria could collapse chaotically if Atiku becomes president in 2027.

Recall that Lawal recently joined the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, after resigning from the ADC following the emergence of Atiku as its presidential candidate.

“I’d rather go with Bola than Atiku because when Nigeria crashes with Bola, it might be an orderly crash, but with Atiku, it would be a chaotic one,” Lawal said.

According to him, the former vice president is not a good man, attributing his position to his previous experience working with Atiku.

“I wanted to work for Atiku. I had the belief that, given the way we are suffering in the North, we should not surrender the presidency; that, at least, our own man would, if nothing else, stop the decline we are in,” he added.

The former SGF accused Atiku of giving instructions and later reversing them after consulting with other people.

“Everything you do with him, there’s chaos,” Lawal stated.
