The Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, on Thursday revealed that the All Progressives Congress, APC, has the DNA of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

Soludo said APGA is in a partnership with the federal government and the APC, stressing that it is working.

Speaking during the visit of Nigeria’s First Lady, Mrs Oluremi Tinubu to the state, the governor said the partnership is aimed at ensuring that Nigeria becomes great.

According to Soludo: “Progressives are working and it’s not just a slogan but a statement of truth, the All Progressives Grand Alliance is the oldest political party registered in 2002 and was registered as a progressive. The All Progressives Congress, APC, came about 12 years later including as a consortium a faction of APGA, so even in APC there is a part of APGA DNA.

“APGA has since dug-in in Anamabra State and here we say that Anambra is APGA and APGA is Anambra but progressives in Nigeria have no choice but to work for Nigeria’s greatness.

“As progressives we are united by the objective to see a Nigeria where there is shared and sustainable prosperity with expanding opportunities for all.

“So far, ours is a partnership that works, a partnership between APGA, the federal government, and the APC, it’s a partnership that works.”

Liverpool star Dominik Szoboszlai is loving life in midfield alongside Alexis Mac Allister.

Szoboszlai netted his first European goal of the 2026/27 season, to haul Andoni Iraola’s team level at 1-1 at home to Atletico Madrid, before Mac Allister fired home the winner at Anfield.

Victory on Merseyside marks a winning UCL debut for Iraola as Mac Allister’s goal piles more focus on his claims of the club not offering him a contract renewal.

The Atleti clash is the third successive game they have started together at the base of Liverpool’s midfield this season, with Mac Allister on the bench for the opener at Newcastle United, as Ryan Gravenberch started.

“I’ve said it many times, I love to play with Macca,” Szoboszlai said at full-time.

“We know each other, and he knows what I want to do, and I know exactly what he wants to do – I think that helps the team as well.

“It’s the manager’s decision who will play the next games and I think everyone is ready to compete with each other, but we have to become a family.

Richarlison is reportedly exploring legal options with FIFA to rip up his current deal at Tottenham.

The 29-year-old was a shock omission from Tottenham’s final 25-man Premier League squad and has been demoted to the under-21s.

Richarlison came close to leaving to re-join Everton in the summer in a separate but still linked move for Iliman Ndiaye.

According to talkSPORT, the Brazilian has now turned to FIFA in a bid to get out of his current Tottenham contract.

Richarlison believes the demotion gives him legitimate grounds to terminate his contract, despite having one year remaining.

It’s been widely reported that Richarlison has accepted an offer to return to Brazil with Vasco Da Gama.
