‘BBNaija Reality TV Show Meaningless,’ Says Nollywood Star Rahama Sadau
In a Facebook post written in Hausa on Saturday, Rahama wrote, “Ni Sam Banga Amfanin Big Brother Naija ba Wallahi,” which translates to, “I honestly do not see any benefit in Big Brother Naija, I swear.”
Reality television is a genre of entertainment that presents unscripted, real-life situations involving either members of the public or celebrities.
The content is designed to be spontaneous, dramatic, and engaging, often relying on audience participation through voting and interaction.
Over the years, reality shows have gained global popularity for blending entertainment with competition, lifestyle, and human-interest storytelling.
Recall that Big Brother Naija, originally called Big Brother Nigeria, premiered in 2006 as the Nigerian adaptation of the international Big Brother franchise.
The format places contestants, known as “housemates,” in a specially designed house where they are isolated from the outside world for weeks, with their activities recorded 24/7.
After a long hiatus following its debut season, the show returned in 2017 and has since been held annually, each season adopting a unique theme.
Over the years, BBNaija has evolved into one of the most-watched reality shows in Africa, amassing millions of viewers across the continent.
This comes two weeks after the Federal High Court in Abuja remanded Blord in Kuje prison for 26 days.
Recall that Blord was arraigned on multiple counts, including impersonating VeryDarkMan and forgery.
However, giving an update on the issue in a post on his Instagram story, VeryDarkMan disclosed that Blord has been sick since April 6, 2026.
He further shared a WhatsApp message alleging that Blord has been transferred from “Egypt 2” to segregation. “Egypt 2 na the Ajegunle part of Kuje prison where armed robbers and other criminals stay. They had to move him because he was sick.”
While mocking Sowore for not being able to secure Blord’s release, VeryDarkMan announced his willingness to “temper mercy.”
He also wrote on his story: “Sowore and his avengers don’t have power to bring Blord out and discontinue the case like he claimed. We are willing to temper mercy.”
Recall that popular human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, had condemned the manner and speed at which Blord was remanded and accused VeryDarkMan and his lawyer of oppression.

Popular Nollywood actor, Zubby Michael, has officially joined the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
The actor joined the party on Saturday in his hometown, Ozubulu, Anambra State.
Confirming the development via his Instagram handle, Zubby Michael shared a video capturing the moment he officially registered and received his membership in the ADC.
“I dey my village enough of the talking online I don involve,” he wrote.
The development has caused a stir online as some fans congratulated him for aligning with Peter Obi, a prominent member of the ADC.
Some fans used the opportunity to slam celebrities who are supporting President Bola Tinubu.
